On Feburary 28th VAGBSA honored our veterans with tribute in conjunction with Community Board 3 and the Department of Veterans Affairs. We paid tribute to three veterans who have enriched our society their contributions and their deeds, Reverend James E. Blakley along side Dory Miller was a defender against the attack on Pearl Harbor. Charles Drake a Vietnam war veteran and President of the Veterans Mission of the Bridge Street A.M.E Church and Commander Matthews, A World War II veteran was honored by Senator Charles Schumer, the Mayor Bill DeBlasio, Public Advocate Letitia James, the Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, State Senator Jesse Hamilton, State Assembly Person Tremaine Wright and our Illustrious City Council Member Robert E. Cornegy Jr. Our Honorees were Proclaimed and Cited by our local leaders for their efforts in enriching our society.
